  • Jeeni Criscenzo del Rio will explain how money created in our current system results in scarcity.

We will learn how a complimentary, interest /debt-free currency, that we create simply by trading our goods and services can build abundance.

She will explain how it works and why you will want to participate in this exciting answer to our dismal economic situation.

Criscenzo is part of a team introducing a mutual credit system to San Diego - CommonCredits.

Monday Night Movies: Koch Brothers Exposed

  • San Diego Coastal Democrat Clubhouse, 1946 Balboa Ave., Pacific Beach, San Diego, CA 92109
  • Join the Costal Democrats Monday for a movie.

    6PM

    This week "Koch Brothers Exposed"
    http://www.kochbrothersexposed.com/

Koch Brothers Exposed is a hard-hitting investigation of the 1% at its very worst. This full-length documentary film on Charles and David Koch—two of the world’s richest and most powerful men—is the latest from acclaimed director Robert Greenwald (Wal-Mart: the High Cost of Low Price, Outfoxed, Rethink Afghanistan). The billionaire brothers bankroll a vast network of organizations that work to undermine the interests of the 99% on issues ranging from Social Security to the environment to civil rights. This film uncovers the Kochs’ corruption—and points the way to how Americans can reclaim their democracy.

Friday Night Philosophy: Political Vision

Please share this invitation with your club members, GO Team, and friends.

This Friday, July 20, 6-7:30pm, at the San Diego Coastal HQ, we will host the fifth in a series of “Friday Seminars.”

The last four Friday Seminar topics:
What is the relationship between philosophy, policy and morality?
What are the core values of the Democrat Party?
Is the Democratic Party the solution or the problem?
How do we take back the media?

This Friday’s Seminar:
Is there a need for a New Vision for the Democratic Party?
What can we learn from the Green Party?

Listen to what Gar Alperovitz said about the “Next Great Revolution.” Towards the end he talks about the emerging need for a new vision.

Also, as the camera scans the audience in the room, check out the demographics of the Green Party. How does this compare with those who attended your last Democratic Club meeting?

Hope to see you on Friday, 6pm, at the San Diego Coastal HQ, as we discuss the need for a new vision for the Old Democratic Party.

Bring your favorite beverage and a snack to share.

Friday Night Political Philosophy

Beginning this week and every Friday until the election
Friday, July 6, 2012
6:00pm
 until 7:30pm

The people here at the Coastal Democratic Headquarters have asked that I help host a weekly conversation on the subject of political philosophy. This is very informal, but there are basic concepts about the nature of our democracy that need to be exposed.

This week we will discuss the nature of civic responsibility and the duty of citizens. To participate please watch the first 27 minutes of the video here: http://www.justiceharvard.org/2011/02/episode-05/#watch

Harvard's Michael Sandel asks some basic qu

estion about the nature of public service, military conscription, and the privilege of citizenship.

Please join us at the San Diego Costal Democrats Headquarters, 1946 Balboa Ave. (between Grand And Garnet) in Pacific Beach. 8-10 pm (eat dinner first)

That decides it, we need mandatory public service for all Americans. Thanks for those who came to discuss the proper roll of government tonight. Next week, is consent necessary for taxation? Or must each new generation be required to pay taxes for the services and protections they enjoy from our democratic government?

They want us to use world cafe rules:
http://www.theworldcafe.com/principles.html

Great opportunity to share ideas, discuss critical issues, and expand our understanding of the values that matter.
